No WP-United Progress

I’m sorry to say that to date I have not been able to make WP-United work with WordPress 3 series. I haven’t been able to spend much time on it so I do not think it is impossible, but it is not a trivial fix if a solution exists. I’ve been working on other projects here and will start posting on those things as time allows. I will try and get back to WP-United, but it is looking like it will be a while before I can.

  1. Although I would love to see some progress in WP United, I think it is about time we all said a few words over the grave and move on. Hopefully the community at large will continue to want a way to integrate WP and phpBB and another coder will step forward and provide a suitable replacement. I really think that won’t happen until phpBB becomes more plugin oriented like WP, providing much more felxibility. The need to edit stock files in order to effect change is just too much to ask.

I would think the developers of both WP and phpBB would love to have a strong integration. The two don’t exactly compete with each other, so both would benefit in saying their software integrates with the other.

  2. WP United’s site is now just a black page with the words “Black Magic Dev ;-)” on them. Anyone know what that might mean? I did a google search, but nothing stood out.
